Just Ordered....

I just ordered Jessica's Stingray Swimsuit tonight! Isn't it just too darn cute???

It also covers everything but her face, lower arms, and lower legs, providing her entire trunk with protection from 97.5% of UVA/UVB rays!!! I've said it once, twice, three times, etc, and I will continue saying it, "Protecting our kids from UVA/UVB rays is a HUGE priority for me!" I find my paranoia completely understandable considering that I am a melanoma survivor! However, I have also made an effort to make sure that our children do not end up looking like complete dorks. I go to great lengths to find cute, well cut swimsuits that still offer great protection from the sun! Hence why I actually ordered this swimsuit from Australia... Just so you know....I did get a good deal: free shipping made this suit about the same price as the one offered in the United States that was not nearly as cute!! I am hopeful that this suit will last 2 years....cross your fingers for me!!!

  2. Thanks Elizabeth!! It's nice to know that I am not the only one who thinks it is cute (as I do not always trust my own opinion in such things)! Also I like the Surfer Girl description!!! It sounds very Jessica....anything that involves activity with a little risk thrown in is right up her alley!!!! Maybe some day I'll let her learn to surf!

  3. Very cute suit! Here in Australia, kids are often even more covered up than that. My boys both have long sleeved rash vests and knee length board shorts, then it's just their necks, ears and face I need to worry about. Girls often wear long sleeved rash vests over their regular suit and at the beach, many girls will wear boardies too, usually a bit shorter than knee length though. The vests come in all sorts of funky colours and styles, I have a longsleeved one too.

I love them 'cos it saves having to slather the kids and myself in cream, which they hate.

  4. Thanks! I WISH that was the case here in the States!!! Here the trend is to get away with as little clothing as possible! I was tempted to go with long sleeves as well, but I was afraid I would turn Jessica into a social outcast....so this was our compromise. :-) I really hope the States will catch onto skin protection like Australia has!!
